TCP/IP

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is the foundational suite of communication protocols used to connect devices on the internet and most local networks. TCP/IP ensures that data can be transmitted across networks reliably and efficiently. TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is responsible for ensuring data is sent and received accurately by establishing a connection between devices, breaking data into packets, and reassembling them at the destination. IP (Internet Protocol) handles the addressing and routing of these packets, ensuring they reach the correct destination. Together, TCP/IP underpins internet communication, enabling functions like web browsing, email, and file transfer.
